If media outlets fail to contact members of Camp Morning Star before showing up on-site, they may be asked to leave.
Everyone is welcome to visit Camp Morning Star to:
- offer solidarity
- learn about the concerns regarding the proposed Wanipigow Silica Sand project
- act as a fire keeper for our sacred fire (spend the night or day tending to the fire)
- donate supplies or
- come for nice, relaxing visit.
Camp Morning Star is located just outside Seymourville, Manitoba on the back road – just look for the Red Flag!
If you are coming from Winnipeg, travel north on highway 59 (Lagimodiere Blvd) towards Grand Beach, turn east onto PR 304 to Pine Falls, Manitoba. Travel north on PR 304 from Pine Falls to the dirt road turn off to Hollow Water First Nation (Wanipigow). Follow the road through Hollow Water until you enter into Seymourville, continue driving through Seymourville until you find yourself on a backroad heading towards Manigotagan. On your left hand side, you will see an access road marked with a red flag – you have arrived!!! (If you pass a sign for Pelican Harbour – you’ve gone too far.)
